Note: All grades are now on a waitlist for 2018-19. We will admit students if space becomes available. We will also only admit students at the beginning of a term.
What happens after I enter Open Enrollment?
Parents will be notified within 30 days of their child's status for the 2018-19 school year. This application is for the 2018-2019 school year only.
Enrollment period 1 goes from Dec. 20 to Dec. 31, 2017. Notifications will be made in January. Enrollment period 2 goes from January 1 to January 30th with notifications going out by February 5th. Enrollment period 3 goes from February 1 to February 28 with notifications going out by March 5th. After February 5th, enrollment offers will be made on a waitlist basis.
An offer of admission is made via email. Parents must digitally sign the offer of admission before registration. Offers are made on an individual basis to each student and not by family. We do our best to keep families together. The offer of admission must be signed within 3 days or the offer is considered declined. After signing the offer, parents will receive a link to fill out an online registration form. This form must be completed within 5 days of receipt or the offer of admission is considered declined. Parents must also submit any required supporting documentation such as birth certificates and immunization records, within 30 days of registration or the offer is considered declined. Once an offer is declined, a parent must start over in the open enrollment process and receive a new acceptance letter.

It is very important that supporting documents are submitted by the listed dates for completing the registration packet and before your students attend. Documents can be emailed, faxed, or mailed. Please note, by Utah Statue, you can only confirm to one school at any given time.
After filling out the Registration Packet, you must submit supporting documents in order to finalize enrollment. Students may not begin attending classes until after all documents have been received. Documents must be submitted within 30 days of completing the registration packet.
Registration Information includes:
- Completed Registration Forms
- Original Birth Certificate
- Current Immunization Record
- Accommodation Information (if applicable)
- Current copies 504 or IEP plans
- Franklin Discovery Academy will request records from your student's current school upon registration
- Proof of Custody / Guardianship (if applicable)

Utah State Law governs student transfers between Utah’s public charter schools and school districts.
If a student has accepted enrollment to Franklin Discovery Academy for the school year and the parent wishes to withdraw the student from Franklin Discovery Academy for enrollment in another Utah charter school or school district, the parent of a student enrolled at Franklin Discovery Academy must obtain approval from both the Franklin Discovery Academy administration and the Utah school district or charter school in which enrollment is sought. The Franklin Discovery Academy administration will provide such approval once notice of approval by the new school has been received.
If a student wishes to enroll at Franklin Discovery Academy but has accepted enrollment to another Utah charter school for the school year, the student’s parent must obtain approval from both the Franklin Discovery Academy administration and the Utah charter school in which the student is already enrolled. Student records will be released as soon as all appropriate paperwork is completed.
