Kerstin McFeely

Mentoring Teacher (8:30 class)

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in University Studies with minors in English and Sociology from Brigham Young University Idaho. My love for teaching began at a young age as my mother was also an educator. I love reading, organizing, baking, traveling, and spending time with my husband and our five children. We are diehard Disney fans (matching shirts and all!) and love to sneak away to Disneyland whenever we get a chance. I love the unique learning opportunities children have at Franklin Discovery Academy. My students are excited about school because they are having fun while learning, making connections in the world around them, and passionately curious. My hope is to instill a love of learning that will follow my students throughout their lives. Aristotle said, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” Kindergarten is so much more than letters and numbers, it’s also about learning to make new friends, get along with others, follow directions, and much more. I’m grateful to be able to help shape the hearts and minds of my students.
